Post by Orion »

Anybody have a Nikon Bolt on their Micro 335? How is it in comparison to OEM?

Thanks

For confidence reasons alone, I would go with a Nikon Bolt. The Varizone that many Micros came equiped with feel like something you would see speced on a walmart air-rifle.

No question, the optics and fit-n-finish are much better on the Nikon.

On the other hand, if you got your bow speced with the new DeadZone scope, I would use it for a few seasons before deciding to upgrade or not. The DeadZone is much superior to the oem Varizone.

Bolt should be a perfect match for the Micro ! I've got one on my Exocet and love it .

You have to go to Nikon Spot on, and if you know the arrow speed, it will line up pretty close. The Bolt is an excellent choice for the shorter Excalibur Bows!

You sight in at 20 with crosshairs then use Nikon ballistic program to find out where the other aiming points are dead on . It'll be close to 20,30,40,50 but not exactly . Example : crosshairs dead on at 20 , next one on at 29yds. Next on on at 42yds , next on at 51 . Easier than it sounds . Great optics at a great price !

This is how mine lines up on the matrix 330, I'm getting around 319 FPS with 390 grains.

I know the Micro is rated @ 335fps, with my setup 16.5 quills and a 150 point what do you think its shooting at? I dont have a chrono in my area to check it. The Nikon Spot on web site currently isn't working for some reason..
