After 29 days and almost as many three or four hour hunts with only 3 deer sightings total I put a nice 7 point down !
Should have been a 8 point but brow tine was broke off while in velvet.
8:30 this morning with a hard south west wind all night and morning I was feeling down at my lack of sightings this year when all of a sudden Here comes a cruising buck he gets to a shooting lane at 30 yards and I let out a bleet with my mouth to stop him and it worked perfect he stopped in the small lane looking / quartering toward me but I was on him and let the Equinox bark , I herd the bolt hit but did not see where,the buck runs 40 yards and stops a a few seconds near a collapsed area of an dilapidated wire fence line and then crosses over it and out of sight .
Sh!# he seamed to have all his wits I gave it an hour before looking for the bolt and it was covered and blood rite away saw blood followed to where he stood for a few seconds at top of hill and a very nice blood spray their, found him another 45 yards piled up Yes !!!! all those second guesses and prayers for a clean harvest were answered .
A perfect double lunger !
Dressed out at 150 lbs.
22 inch Easton power bolt, 170 gr Slick trick, blazer veins .
