I've had both, I personally like the MICRO (smaller) as I hunt from only ground blinds due to my knees. Its perfect in a blind. Harder to cock a tad more. Also I think it sounds quieter. I changed the scope on mine from the Varizone to a Nikon Bolt which I think was an improvement.
Just my .02 worth, Good Luck deciding!! :D

Age, physical condition plays a big roll. The 335 Micro is a big dog in a little dog body. I would recommend a Matrix 330.

Just remember the old school excals are what Excalibur's reputation were built on...animal's were falling to these model's long before the "new" excals were on the drawing table.
I will always own at least one long limber. :D

Tomorrow will be my first time shooting the Matrix 405, and since I have a Mission RXB Dagger I figured adding another Excalibur. I like the Old School long limbers for the shooting longer target times but I like the style of the Micro as well...

Dan's suggestion of looking at the Matrix 330 was perhaps a very good one.

You'll be able to draw and shoot it alot longer and with less hastle while still using strings and arrows that are interchangable with the ones your using for your 405.

I just made a similar decision today and chose and made a deal on a M330 instead of a Micro as a stablemate to my 355....
I made this decision just because of the ease of cocking, and ability to use the strings and zombie slayers I already have on hand... while still getting a very fast, flat shooting, and capeable bow.

Just my $.02 and probaly not much.

Micro vs Exocet , Only difference I see is the size and cost , Micro would be much easier to carry but cost ALOT more . Speed will be equally . Also the Exocet will be much more reliable ! Hands down ! One more thing to consider is , will this be a primary or backup bow ? Not a bad choice to be made .

I had the 405 1st killed a decent 7 pt wid it last yr. It was jus too heavy once it was decked out. So i traded it fer the Micro i have, sold my Matrix 355 n bought s 380 as its lighter decked out than the 405 by a pound. 1 lb to me is like 4 lbs to someone else

Probally use as a shooter and use the 405 in hunting application.
