All the time, but I keep trying and eventually I get my deer. This year not much sign until Tuesday and no deer sightings so far. I hope to have better luck with the rifle this week. :)

Ever wake up in the wee hours and want to crawl back to the warm bed. Eyes won't hardly open. You hit snooze only to "wake up" 9mins later feeling worse. Those are my most productive deer killing days. Don't know why that is, but after the deer is found I think to myself "and I almost didn't make it out"

I say: stay up late, drag yourself unwillingly out of bed in the morning and get your buck!

Them bucks are smarter than we give them credit for. They not only pattern you - they know exactly when you are in their house, and when you leave. My main stands are about a half mile into the woods from my cabin, and I have watched how the deer react when they hear a car door slam shut and a vehicle leave our property, or my brother in-law start up his 4 wheeler to put out bait, or drive back to his tree stand. The deer listen and react accordingly. I have watched them vacate the area when he started driving around the beaver pond to put out corn, and then not return until after they heard the atv start up and leave again 20 minutes later, and he was 1/4 mile away from me. Them bucks get old by being smart

Was in the stand this morning. A doe & fawn, 8 squirrels at the same time, and a variety of songbirds entertained me. I have the feeling the bucks will be moving around more now. Had pictures of 2 new ones from last night on the camera card. A nice wide 7 point and a decent 10 point.
