After several years of hunting, my Lumi-zone scope has some problems so I decided to replace it. I ordered a Vari-zone scope from Amazon but decided to look at some other options. That eventually led me to the Nikon Bolt XR (I already have Nikons on my hunting rifles and muzzleloader).
I mounted the scope to the standard Excel scope base but because of the length of the scope (and the way it mounts) it was necessary to move my head forward in order to see the correct field of view. It worked fine, just a bit uncomfortable. My Exocet 200 also has the Leopold Vendetta mounted so there was also a consideration for this.
I found this product on Amazon.com:
Monstrum Tactical Offset Reversible 1" Scope Ring Set
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YFPNDOG/ref=cm_sw_su_dp
These mount to the standard locations on the Excel Scope mount and offset the scope 1 1/2" to the rear. This allows me to rest my cheek on the stock cheek piece and places my eye at the correct distance from the scope.
This is a view from the other side:
and finally, this is a closer view:
There is about 1/16" clearance between the Vendetta mount and the from scope ring.
This installation was done without any alterations!
