I've been shooting carbon sense I started cross bow hunting about eight years ago and when i got my micro i cut my quills down to 15" they are 357 grains i had decent groups at 60 but I didn't like the weight so i put brass incerts in and it made them a little better there about 398 grains. Then Cal from pine mountain sent me a few 15" 2219 i think they were around 420 grains and they would be touching at 60 yards .. So ill be switching to 2219 s in the future. My only problem is i like the threaded nocks on excal carbon but I haven't been able to find them for a 2219 anyone know who makes them? And i will have around nine quills for sell in a few weeks ..

you put insert in both ends. Then you have a threaded nock.

what I do to lose some weight off the tail end of my arrows, is I cut the nock/insert down to bout 1/4" long....instead of weighing 25gr, mine only weigh 7 gr  ....which raised the FOC % of my arrows to help fly better....

The difference in the inside dia of a 2219 and a easton firebolt, quill is only .0035 smaller im sure they would probably stay in with enough glue and prob be fine for a knock sense its the back and you don't have to worry about tuning.

I like alum arrows just for using hot melt to keep inserts in at both ends, when I bend an alum arrow it is way easier to get component's out to use again....
