New 330 In The Cave,,, Gotta Keep It!!!

Post by wildcatter »

Just added another Matrix to the cave. Got it just after noon yesterday, put it together and run it thru the paces, nice little bow. Then I tore it down, stuffed the rail full of HD foam, .and did the noise dampening, blue loctite on all the fasteners and retightend everything, installed a Vixenmaster flemish D97 string, set BH and cocked it over night to help set the string.

Then this morning I dug out a set of 9 Spynal Tapps I had built for the Micro. 16.5" with a 55grn. LNL they are 255 grn. so I set'm up with 125 grain field points, ended up with a 380 grn finished arrow. Then after readjusting BH to 1", I set out to adjust the scope, 3 shots and I was sighted in. Then shot em to sort a hunting set out of the 9 and ended up with 6 that pretty much all hit to the same POI at 20 yards.

So after I marked the cock vanes to keep them separate, since they were cronographing rite at 318 fps, I set the factory scope to around 320,,, and set the target to 40 yards. First shot looked good, right in the heart,,, so thinking I can get away at shooting the same place at 40 yards to confirm this perfect zero,,,, I loaded another,,,, the shadow off the two arrows tell's the story!!
Image
Yep,, a real quick lesson here folk's,,,, don't aim at the same place twice with these 330,, or any Excalibur for that matter,,, even at 40 or 50 yards, cause if you do your part,,, even these little Matrix bows put em rite where you aim em!!

I screwed a 125 grain Slick Trick Stnd. on and sent one to 20 yards maybe 1/4" higher than the field tips and centered L-R,, then sent anther to 40,, just high 1" so reshot it and about 3/4" high and center,,, It looks like I got another one to bleed this year,,,, it's definitely a keeper,,, Dam these Matrix bows are addicting,,,,,

That can ruin a lot of arrows in a hurry but it sure is cool to see tight groups like that isn't it!! I'd say your good to go. :)

The 355 was what I have been looking for, but found a great price on the new 330 and said what the heck, was going to use it fer trade'n stock. After runn'n it thru the paces, look's it has taken the 355's hook.

Now I gotta put up another hook n start look'n fer a 355,,,,, I'd like to find a MO Treestand Stock, I got a set of high deflection Treestand limbs, that I'd like to put together and have a 355 in Treestand Camo.... I love the 380's but you can never have enough bows,,,, can you??

Awesome bow! I just missed out on one for a steal of a deal due to work and traffic intervening.

Enjoy

What do you mean by stuffing the rail full of HD foam? I haven't heard of that before for setting up your CB...
