Speed depends on a number of things . The D-97 string supplied with the bow is much less in mass/ strand count then a 40 strand BCYX string. The BCYX string produces almost 5fps faster arrow speed. Some string material will transfer the bows energy much more efficiently then others regardless of strand count.GrassyKnoll wrote:From my understanding..... and I might be wrong.....but it comes down to the finished weight of a given string.. A thick heavy string will weigh more physically and have more drag on the rail whereas a thinner string weighs less and probably has less drag on the rail making it faster. That's my interpretation anyway..
Thicker/more strands bulkier material, weights more = slower string.
Thinner/less strands, less mass weight = faster string.

Have crossbows will travel
Re: Matrix 355 FPS stock
Thanks for the input. Sounds like my matrix 355 "all stock" with stock string and Diablo arrows and 150 heads should be about 346 fps. Great forum and thanks for the input.
Re: Matrix 355 FPS stock
If you got exactly 355 FPS, and the arrow combination you are using, you should get 338 - 339 FPS. Some limbs do better than others as well. The only real way to know for sure is to shoot through a chronograph.
Good Luck with the 355, it is a sweet shooter for sure!

It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!
