That was actually pretty cool. In PA we have to gut it where it lays. But with a little ropen in my pack and since I already carry my small handheld tree trimming kit this won't be hard for me to try this year. It really looked quick and clean.

Now then, get your equipment, your quiver and bow, and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

This would be great if some take the deer out of the woods hole, I drop my guts as soon as possible and never transport a deer till I clean em. I would still core the ass hole first thing, then that is pretty much what I do with a little Buck woodsman 102,,, I have that Outdoor edge in the Kody pack he used as his guthook knife, very good knife if you like BIG. But to me it's just over tooled for the task, I don't have to split the pelvis after coring the ass, it pull's right out, and won't be carrying my loppers when hunting. But if he would have cored the ass hole befor starting so he didnt need to cut the pelvis, that is exactly the way I have field dressed for years, that buck knife will do 3 or 4 deer cutting through the breast with the heel of the blade before needing sharpened.

For a gut hook that grizzly field dressing knife he used is excellent, hold's an edge as good as the buck, which is better than any other knifes I have tried,,, and I have tried a few, and it is capable of scalpel sharpness, most high dollar knifes aren't. It is also priced pretty good, hard to beat. I just like the compact Buck 102. But anything bigger than Whitetail deer I would use my Grizzley!

I also gut mine where they lay. I was wondering what he was going to do with the butt hole as he cut off the video on both deer when he got to it. He had to cut it somewhere.....
I love my Buck knife.

Actually a pretty neat way to go about it. Sometimes I gut them in the woods and sometimes I do it at the ranch. It's nice to gut at the ranch at times as there is water there and blood (and whatever!) is a lot easier to wash off when it's still fresh and damp if you know what I mean. I also core the AH so no real need to split the pelvis but if you got one of those snippers it might not be a bad idea.

He must specialize in shooting small does and possibly headshot? Didn't see a drop of blood in the body cavity. That always makes the job a lot more interesting, a chest full of blood. During rifle season I just shot a nice 7 pt., double lunged it and took out the off side shoulder and it still made a death run of 60 yards or so. Cleaned him in the woods and was chuck full of blood in the chest. If you had jerked the guts out like that you would have been wearing some of it...

Overall a neat technique though.
