Hey Jeff,

I roll into the blade as I cut my shafts and then square them afterwards...

Are you using an actual arrow saw for cutting your arrows?

Although you may take your time spinning the shaft when cutting, and still get great results, a separate squaring tool is required afterwards to really finish the ends. If aluminum rear nocks are installed, I square them again, an always the front inserts as well.

What they all said! Personally I use a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel. Then square with a G5. Then, as mentioned square the insert once glued in. You would be surprised at the amount of wobble a non-square insert can cause.

I push the arrow into the wheel then slowly turn. I then square both ends of the shaft then the inserts and the nocks....once assembled of course.
