New M380

Post by Scarecrow »

Ok, now that the 380 is on its way I would like to verify a couple things. From what I have read I can use the same strings and arrows I purchased for my Grizzly.

I have seen a couple of different specs for the 380 as far as arrows.....one said 20" and the other 18". I am using the 18" Diablo's with 150g Slick Tricks.

I am hoping I can assemble it and sight it in using my current arrows. Our 2nd bow season starts next Tuesday. Can't wait!!

Most of the combo's will shoot jus depends on what accuracy you end up wid. I sometimes shoot 20" 2216's at 618gr out of Captain Morgan

Aluminum 2216? 618gr? That seems like a heavy arrow but I bet it delivers one hell of a thump!! I have a bunch of aluminum 2216 and 2219 from my vertical bow that I might play with over the winter.

The 380s come with 18 inch diablos so they should work fine. There are better arrows out there you might want to look into after season.

Don't over look the aluminum arrows you have either. For my cub(same as your grizzly), matrix 330 and 345 I shoot 15.5 inch 2216 splinters half of the time. A 15.5 inch 2216 with blazers and an easton plastic nock will weigh 350gr-100gr broadhead, 375gr-125gr head, and 400gr-150gr head. These are just as accurate as any carbon arrow I have shot(if not more) they require no spine indexing either.

I use the 2216 for 3d targets because they don't melt to them and pull very easy compared to carbon. They also work great in very wet marshy ground because I can build them very cheap(especially if you already have old arrows) and almost always loose them deep into the marshy ground.

2117 at this length will also perform great with a .300 bohning mag nock. Next year I am planning on testing some 2219 at longer lengths for the 380 class bows.

Good Luck!
