Rain n Lack of Huntin

Post by vixenmaster »

Well i don't knowed about y'all but the only time i hunt in the rain is when it catches me in my stand. Well the forcast is 5 days of this really fine stuff, started yesterday. Its suppose to stop about noon on Mon. so looks like Tues. before i get to get back on the stand, a full week of down time. Dang rainy days give me the mully grubs, the longer the days it rains the worst it gets

I have 3 brother's hold up in the 5th Wheel trailer in the RV Park on Camp Gruber near Braggs, Oklahoma because of the rain. The good news is they have two big screened TVs, furnace, electric fireplace, two recliners, plenty of food, etc. They like to rough it!!

I'll be joining them next week.

Look on the bright side. Here in Ontario most of us can only shoot one deer this season. Some of us are tagged out and we can't hunt deer even if the weather is perfect!!! LOL
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

In Oklahoma during Archery season we are allowed 6 deer per season, 2 Bucks and 4 does. Gun and Muzzleloader Season, 1 Buck and two does. These limits can vary depending on special hunts and certain wildlife areas.

Generous limits but so far I haven't harvested a deer yet. Been archery hunting since October 1st and have Gun Hunted for only 2 days so far. Been an off year for sure.

Sometimes I look forward to those rainy days to catch up on chores. Best when the chores are butchering deer!
