Loctite scope screws question

Post by Gregoire1960 »

I've noticed that some of the scope ring screws start to back off a bit after a dozen or so shots. I plan to apply a little blue loctite to the threads and leave it for a day or two to set up.

My question is this.... since the scope is currently snugged down and adjusted so the crosshairs are perpendicular / horizontal, can I remove one screw at a time, loctite it and replace it?

Thanks

I would think it would be more likely on a four screw ring, less positive on a 2 screw ring,,,,, but on any change at all, I would certainly shoot it to confirm my change before I could rely on it!

Yes that will work fine, but you still need to put a few bolts thru her to make sure she is still zeroed....should still be zeroed but you still ALWAYS confirm... BEFORE you shoot at that big buck 40 yards out. :)
