A Poem lol... by Coon Gravy, esq.

Post by Coon Gravy »

There are some fine poets and painters etc. on this forum so I thought I'd give the arts a go, Texas style. Please don't take this as mockery, it is the best I can do.

Saturdays of the Season! (to the tune "Jingle Bells" in the spirit of Christmas!)
Dashing to the store
To get another case
Probably have too much
But it won't go to waste;
Load up in the truck
In a hunting mood
Got my gear and lots of beer
Forgot to bring some food;

Ooooh, woe is me
Up at 3
Truck keys in my hand
Gonna freeze
Better go pee
Before I hit the stand;

Snore myself awake
Now it’s 10 o’clock
Darn, that was a waste
I’ll have another shot;
Thought I heard a deer
Turned out to be a squirrel
Come on stupid wind
Why you got to swirl;

Ooooooh, woe is me
Getting hungry
Found and old power bar in my pack
About to get down
Look around
And see a freaking rack!

Trying to stay cool
Breathing pretty hard
At this very moment
Need to sneeze, cough, belch, and fart;
Hardened like a statue
Taking careful aim
Time to die, let it fly
Just as it gets dark…damn;

Woe is me
Blood on that tree
Now the work begins
Knock back a brew
And grab a chew
Can’t wait to go again

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, and have a nice weekend!
