Matrix Grizzly help...

Post by Mr.Cooper »

Looking for stock-extender for the the Matrix Grizzly. I've tried the stock extenders that are advertised as fitting all the new stock past 2008.
It doesn't fit properly. Does anyone know the proper product code# if they make one ?
And are they ever going to make a cheek piece in camp for it ?

Thanks for any help.

Not sure about the extender, I don't have that problem.

Anyways, I don't know if they're going to make a camo cheek piece. I called earlier in the fall to ask about it and they didn't seem too enthusiastic about it. So I just bought the black one and painted it the best that I could.

Good luck,

I guess I could try dremeling it out. I want to increase the length of the stock.

Coop, not that I know, but I wonder if the extender is universal for all Matrix's. In that case an exact fit for all may not be possible. If someone such as yourself desired a more custom fit then I'm sure that it would take some personal enginuity.

Just checked. There is not enough material to maintain the structural integrity of the extender if I were to dremel it out.
I'm going to these if i can make something out of kydex and rifle extender.
With that being said....

That'd be a good idea. I'm sure someone has a solution. Could you just move your scope forward or live with what you have?

Yeah I can live with it. Just not as comfortable as I like it to be. I had an axiom with full length extender on it. Was almost perfect. But I sold it. The problem is that my wife bought me this bow as a wedding gift. So I don't want to sell it. From a store I hate. So the sales person was a retard and prolly didn't help her accordingly. I guess I'm just a freak. I like longer stocks. I'm 5"10 and have the same reach as my friend that's 6"1.

I sanded the rear butt stock end flat and glued a suitable sized stock pad to it so that my Matrix fits my 6' 4" frame much better. I found this modification not very difficult.

I was even thinking about heating up the extender until it was malable and mold it to the frame.

I used Gorilla Blue Top, the same glue I use on my arrow components and it is Rock Solid!

That's a great mod Norm! Looks great, very functional and didn't require hacking up the stock. Well done. :)

That's a great idea. Many folks here have come up with great fixes and mods for their bows.

We could call it the Basement Crossbowsmith Thread. :D

Great Idea... I would emagine if someone was worried about it "Wiggling off" it could also have small screws added in the securement procedure like is done on a rifle as most but pads are pre-drilled... Would that be an option?

I had the exact same issue, I bought a part # 1981 for my Grizzly because it said it fits all bows after 2008 with the 5 horizontal lines. It didn't fit so I called Excalibur support and they told me I need part # 1958,,,,but I didn't see them on the web anywhere???? Maybe I will end up adding a rifle pad as well.

Maybe I should call Danny
