Dr. Stirrup: How works?
Can anyone explain how the Dr Stirrup stirrup works. Do you cock with 2 feet on it? If using one foot does it need to be centered?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Did the stirrup come with instructions?

Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
I can't find any info on how to use. The folks at Dr Stirrup need a video.

If you didn't throw out the packaging, look at the back of the card that the stirrup came on.

Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
I did not buy a Dr Stirrup. I want to know why it is better, but I am unable to find any info on how to use it.
Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
The stirrup has a position that makes seated cocking easier. It also seems to reduce the cocking effort. The cocking rope handles allow more fingers on them which reduces strain. The front cover protects the arrow tip from being dislodged and hands/fingers from the tip. The rubber string stops greatly attenuate the string as the string is allowed to rest up to 1/16" into the stop. They are tough! The stirrup is designed for both feet to be used for cocking and uncocking which not only makes it easier but removes the possibility of inserting an arrow into the users foot during decocking.

Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
At Boofest 2015 where Gaston unveiled Dr. Stirrup, I watched numerous back to back before and after chronograph tests demonstrating a average 1 fps loss using the rubber limb silencers when placed at the limb junction where little limb movement was observed.gametrail wrote:I just checked them out do the silencer take a way speed? Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
I had thought the same. But after receiving the full Dr stirrup kit, I spent a couple days testing. Using my chrony and changing the placement of the limb dbkilllers I found the best area for optimum performance. Only 1 fps loss. Even if it had been 5 fps loss I would have been happy. The trade off of less limb vibration and noise well worth it. In a different post on here I had a couple pics showing about where to place them. And the dbkiller bumpers are really great also. They truly work. The stirrup it's self takes a bit to get use to. It's made to use both feet. And gives much greater support and ease for cocking the bow. Doubles as a stand and shooting base. It's different in the looks department for your bow. Some like it, some don't. The 4x4 rope cocker also works great as it's intended design for easier cocking and less chance of having misstring alignment. All in all it works! The whole drstirrup line.gametrail wrote:I just checked them out do the silencer take a way speed? Looks like it would.

Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
Good question. Yes, 1-2'/sec over being slightly off the Excal string bumpers. However, they quieten it significantly.gametrail wrote:I just checked them out do the silencer take a way speed? Looks like it would.
Re: Dr. Stirrup: How works?
Belive the question was for the limbs? As far as the db bumpers. It is recommended to actually be on the bumpers with the string. No more than 1/16 into it. And actually gain speed while gaining the damping efficiency.SEW wrote:Good question. Yes, 1-2'/sec over being slightly off the Excal string bumpers.
