New Crossbow Rage Extreme

Post by typical10 »

It appears they lengthened the shaft to extend the blade 1/2" to a 2.5 cutting hole over the 2" rage.
The Chisel Tip Extreme from Rage is one of the most devastating broadheads available. The Extreme features a chisel tip for bone crushing penetration coupled with the giant hemorrhaging cuts of the Extreme. This broadhead also utilizes the Rage Shock Collar blade retention system for superior blade retention over conventional rubber bands. Features: SlipCam rear blade deployment; 2.5"" cutting diameter; Chisel Tip ; Massive wound channels; Shock Collar blade retention system; Leading blade honed to surgical sharpness; Sweeping blade angle maintains kinetic energy longer; Not recommended for draw weights under 55 pounds. Technical Information: Weight - 125 grains; Broadhead Type - mechanical; Number of Blades - 2; Cutting Diameter - 2.5""; Ferrule Material - aluminum; Blade Material - steel; Replaceable Blades - Yes. 3 pack.

Looks very much like the Killzone Crossbow with a collar. Check out the Killzone, 2" blades .039''s thick, blade retention system that does not rely on collars, just sayin', and a cut on contact tip.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

Pick some up and compare the penetration to other brands on the market.

Rage has never produced a broadhead that would penetrate to the same depth as just about any of it's competitors.

Not a big deal if you are shooting more power than you would ever need, but if you shoot lighter/slower bows the Rage is NOT the best head to go with.

If they spent half as much on engineered tests and development as they do on marketing they would probably produce an awesome head.

The greatest proponents of Rage heads are those that have shot very little else and never done head to head comparisons.

But they do fly nice....
