What arrow weight do you prefer?

Post by Excalibur Marketing Dude »

Hi All,

We have had some discussions internally regarding what real world total arrow weight are our customers shooting these days? Do you like a light arrow so you get the maximum speed out of your crossbow or are you more concerned with kinetic energy and hitting power? Maybe you like a heavier arrow to reduce noise? Please take this poll and give us your feedback!

Thanks!

I went with 400 grain but I actually shoot mostly around 382 to 385 grain arrows out of my Matrix bows.

I use lumenock fire bolts with 150 grain Bolt Cutters so that is in the 425 grain area.

I voted 375 since it was closest choice to the 385ish arrows that I made/shoot

Most of my current ones are (I THINK) around 405 or 415. I'm going to build some here soon that are right at 399, so I chose the 400gr option.

After thousands of arrows and shots, I believe that a perfect match of weight, speed , power is around 400 to 425 gr.
Lots of combo's work perfectly but this is a very good happy medium. IMO anyway. 8)

I honestly like 400 grains, but am shooting right at 425 grains. I went this high to do what I could to ensure limb longivity during the "baked limb period" . ( I cast my vote for 425 )

I now have a set of the new micro and matrix limbs bought and comming my way. Once they arrive I intend to drop to 385-405 grains for a bit flatter trajectory.

I agree. 400-425 makes a very nice hunting arrow for deer.

I would also add that designing an arrow that flies well with a 100 grain broadhead and is in the 400-425 total arrow weight is pretty important to me. Alot more choices in that broadhead weight.
