My first try at building hunting arrows.

Post by TenshiB »

I made three of them and they consist of, from one end to t'other:

Lumenok (29gr)
NAP Quickfletch 3" Twister (website says 35gr)
Black Eagle Executioner shaft. 20" (180gr)
Black Eagle aluminum insert (30gr)
G5 Striker (125gr)

This puts me at 399 grains total weight with an FOC that's just under 13% according to the calculator on the Goldtip website..

Anybody have any experience with a setup similar to this? I haven't got to shoot 'em, yet, and I really want to make sure my target will stop them. I may test run them on a Yellowjacket target with fieldtips of the same grain weight..
Axiom with a Murphy's G String
Older Exomax with Triggertech Trigger
Nikon Bolt xr
Vortex Viper xbr
Firebolts with 150gr Boltcutters
Executioners with 125gr G5 Strikers

You should have excellent arrows if they have been spine indexed. If not you will need to shoot each and sort the those that hit the same POI the most, then reshoot each that didn't hit the same POI using a different vane for the cock vain, reshoot till you get the best match for those that did hit same POI.

If they were spine matched and indexed this should not be necessary. Let us know how they fair.
