Excal Matrix cocking rope length

Post by ThunderXB »

Going to make my own back up cocking rope for the new Bulldog 400.

Can anyone tell me how long the "standard" Matrix cocking rope is?

(My Bulldog is on the way, but not arrived yet)

Thanks!

standard is all up to personal preferance, and which model Matrix you have. Most here shorten up their cocking rope so you have some of the early weight already on it when you start the draw to cock it. I have mine 4" off the incocked length, this means I am drawing my 13" draw distance only 9" to finish the cocking effort. This will make it easier fer most, so set the length to suite you, there is no has to be length and everyone is different,,,,,

X2 everyone I know shortens them as well, arm length and height are the variables. I'd hold off until you get yours then play with it a bit until you find most comfortable length. All you have to do is loosen the knot on one end to adjust.

THANKS! guys.

I agree, just in testing one, I like having the cocking rope "pre-tensioned".

I just wanted a ballpark on how much amsteel rope to get. (already have the Munch mount hooks)

Got too busy today and didn't have a chance to call Excal.

Get 32 " and cut off to your requirements. I put 30 at first not thinking about needing knots tied.
