???????????

Post by papabear1 »

A little while back I posted about my string not square to the rail,
but after shooting it about 6/7 times it was square,
now that it has set a while it,s not square again ?
I was told not to be too concerned, but I just don't understand,
can somebody clue me in as to why this happens ?

sounds like your tiller is out. one limb is weaker. the xbow may still shoot fine but for me it would drive me crazy. i would send those limbs back. no amount of shooting is gonna change it.

My Phoenix is "not square" also. It shoots ping pong ball size groups at 40 yards (bench rest) I am not going to change a thing!! :D

Best i can tell you is as it sits on yer rail fer awhile not bein shot it becomes egg shaped because of the limb pressure. Once you start shootin it begins to get its round shape back

Try pulling the string back a few inches and letting it go and have another look.
If that fails, remove the limbs and swap them left to right and see if the unevenness changes sides.
You might just be second guessing yourself and making yourself crazy.

I take issue with that "Egg Shape " comment as I'm sure I'm not they only one who starts turning "Round" again after getting up out of my recliner and walking around a bit.

Stop making this personal ! :D

Doc says, "You need to get in shape". I say "Round is a shape, Doc."

....isn't that a tiller issue?

unless you are measuring the string to a good fixed place on the riser how do you know its out?
if you are looking at the REDs to determine this you chasing your tail.. they move ,expand, contract ect. not a reliable source for tiller measurement.

I used a square on the rail ! and string was not square to the rail,,,,
I first noticed string was different space from bumpers'
that's when I used square on the rail,
there was 1/16'' difference,
going to swap limbs, one side, to the other and see what I got,
if the distance changes to other side, i'll call Danny Miller.

O.K.
I swapped the limbs ,and it transferred the gap to the other side,
same amount, only different side,
so i'm guessing I have a weak limb, :(
I know some say don't worry about it, BUT"
I have a thing about things being right
so I guess i'll be calling Danny, and see what he says.
comments welcome !! :D
