Very nice pics Woody.
Is the haze in the Glacier Bay shot due to the massive forest fires they've had this summer??
I understand they had a particularly warm and dry summer because of the location of the Jet Stream.

Did you have a meal of fresh Halibut by any chance?? :)

Smoke was everywhere. It wasn't as bad down on the coast as it was in the interior.

Yep, I had fresh halbut on more than one occasion. We went to a salmon bake at Pioneeer Park ( the old Alaska Land) in Fairbanks and I had halibut instead.

I consider it on a par with walleye..

Would you go again, just for the halibut?

I would even go for the salmon...

We did eat VERY good on this trip.

I had been on the Atkins diet prior to leaving and when I went on the tour I told my wife I was starting a new diet.

She asked what it was and a I said - The FATkins diet..

Salmon, king crab legs (lots), halibut, prime rib, steak, lobster, crab, reindeer, baked Alaska and lots and lots of fancy desserts.. Yum..

On the cruise ship the evening meal consisted of an appetizer (choice of about 4), soup (choice of 2), salad (chocice of 2), entree (choice of 4) with veggies, and dessert (choice of 3 or 4). You could order as much as you wanted of any item. I usually got two appetizers as aI dearly love shrimp cocktails.

At the buffet it was all you could eat. We ate most evening meals in the dining room and some lunches.

Usually about 10pm we would mosey on up to the Lido deck and get another dessert and decaf coffee, before retiring for the night.

Hard to believe I only put on 4 pounds in the process. Although we did do a lot of walking.

Woody you've got to put both feet on the scale.

Glad you and your wife enjoyed yourselves. Everyone should make that trip once in their lives. Especially outdoorsmen like us on here.
