Every mother should be so fortunate to have a son like you. My wife will be accompanying me into the woods this year, toting her new Excalibur (and she's 65). So let Mom know she has a kindred spirit out there. :D

Thanks for all the kind words. I am the fortunate one. I did send mom a link to the site, no questions yet. Hope to see her this weekend for some set up and shootin, I'll put that bug in her ear.

Hello everyone...I'm the "New Huntress" ageless mind refers to, his mom. This is my first post. Boy this hunting can get expensive!!! But, it's one of the best things I've ever done. He and I have only been out a couple of times, seen nothing but that was ok. Just being in the outdoors, enjoying nature...the sights, sounds, smells is the best, (until he brings out deer enticement spray) but doing this with my son is absolutely wonderful, couldn't ask for anything else...oh, I nice fat deer! I've been scouting state land around me, Oakland county, but it seems these areas are overpopulated with hunters but will keep looking. I have plans on going out myself but not until I see how to field dress and have necessary equipment. Good luck to everyone! :D

Put the word out you are looking for a place to hunt. I was talking about deer hunting at church when one of my friends there said I have deer on my place. I now hunt on his place.

This is going to be exciting!

There is so much adventure when a new hunter develops a love for the outdoors and the chase. Do post of your exploits, with deer or not. It's all part of the process.

PS. You chose a good bow. And a good son.
Don't look at the antlers!! And don't look him in the eye!!
