I have three of them (2 Kongs & Silverback) and think they are great. I have never seen the outfitter before do you have a link to it? I was looking for something that I could use with my son and I.

I believe the outfitter is a ladder stand which seats two people. I have seen pics before. Pretty much any two person ladder stand is a good buy. Just make sure that the tree you put it on can hold the weight.

I have a cuple and their very strong. We got stuck in a mud hole and used on under the tires to get traction. The stand held up great , no bends, busted weilds. I would say there very good. LOL

Yes, it is the double stand and I have ordered it, based on the good feedback.

I have a tree selected with 12" diameter along the edge of a wetland. Close to the tree is a pond, and on the other site is a pine grove, followed by old apple trees (there is much deer manure there) and then the soybean field. (this is the back of my property).

It will be looking north, and expect to be shaded.

I expect most people do not move these stands alot, so it is important to pick your location .. correct?

Got a question for you raspberry. You mention you bought a 2 man ladder stand (gorilla). If you don't mind me asking, how much are these babies worth, in Canadian funds?

bstout,

When I bought this unit, I did not expect to be moving it, as least not often. I am fortunate to have some space to hunt in the back of my property.

Yesterday evening out on the driveway we had a buck standing still. It is likely the space and wildlife that resulted in my daughter wanting to take up hunting.

So my objective,

.. this year, get a feel for it. Develop familarity, accuracy at a target from different placements, patience and observation. Ideally, begin looking at other lands to hunt, and hopefully, get a nice deer.

... next year, expand our horizon. Place and how to be determined.

I like heights and do like climbing trees. I am not sure about my daughter.
