String/Suppressor Question

Hello All,
Brand new to crossbow hunting and just purchased a Matrix 380. Watched the video sent but it seems to be an older video with older models. When I put it together last night, my string is compressed deep into the suppressors, almost the thickness of the string. My question is, do I adjust the suppressors or the string to give me the recommended 1/4-1/2" gap of string to suppressors? I am assuming the string indents will eventually go away in the suppressors? Thanks for your help.

You adjust the string. Use your stringing aid so you can put some twists into the string to get them away from the bumpers. If you still have the factory string, you'll want to twist it a few extra times and let it sit a day or two and re-check it. It'll continue to stretch for awhile.

I suggest that you use the factory string for now till you become more familiar with your new crossbow.

It is a good idea to purchase a back up string in the off season and shoot it to stretch it, then go back to your original string and keep one as a back up in the field.

Keep you back up string stored and attach the loops with a paper clip so that you can re install it the way it came off pre stretched.

To be helpful, the end loops when removed, do not let unwind and place into the clip. This way it keeps the same twists. I use a shower curtain ring or twist tie myself.

Some aftermarket strings are clockwise to twist. I have one of those.

No real reason to change out the factory string other than some stretch a bit more..
Many guys actually get a couple feet faster arrow with the lighter factory string... I would use it as a back up string after it's shot and stretched out.

Flemish strings are my choice as it seems they absorb shock a bit better and possibly are a bit qiuieter......then there is the fact that they can be made with so many fancy colors and are stronger in the loops than an endless type factory string.

Initally I'd set your strings at 1/2" off the bumpers and allow either type to strech some.... They will do this overnight ( especially if bow is left cocked and safety is "SET" ) . They may stretch a bit more as you shoot, and may need a bit further adjustment.
