Think before you buy neoprene boots

Post by longbow joe »

Ive always wore the lacrosse rubber style warm weather boot. I decided to try the latest and greatest new neoprene kind .I got these boots from sportsmans guide . The boots get strait a's very comfortable and all for a bargain for 40 bucks but i never considered how the neoprene picks up all the burrs and hitchhikers i just spent a half hour picking a jillion of em off. (Not fun) So if you live in burr or hitchhiker woods beware. As said great boot but bad for my woodsImage[/URL]

Same experience here, and very easy to poke holes in the top portion too, and there goes the water proof feature!

My Muck Elite boots have never sprung a leak and I have not had burrs, etc. stick to them either. Pretty certain this is their 5th year of service and still look like new.
But they did not cost $40 either.

So longbow joe...aside from the burrs which boots do you find more comfortable? Neoprene or the rubber lacrosse boots?

I have muck boots now and I'll tolerate the burrs as it don't really bug me..just wondering from a guy who had both styles which do you prefer in terms of comfort...

My problem is that I wear a size 14EE, and nobody seems to offer neoprene boots in sasquatch sizes.

I got 5 years from my Mucks, they just developed a leak. I love them! Trick is to go one size big, much warmer that way. I may try a different style boot this year, just to see.
