It's good to have choices. All the Matrix and Micro series bows are awesome..

For me the Micro wins hands down as a close range hunting bow because that's what I do. I don't shoot anything further than 30 yards....

I chuckle a bit when the speed vs penetration comments come up. Arrow Penetration has more to do with momentum and heavy arrow weights than fps. I get full pass through shots with the Micro 315/335 and my arrow is travelling at sub 300fps. Why?? I use 425gr arrows with high FOC that are high on the momentum scale.

Use the model that fits you best...

I traded my Exomax for a Micro 335 which I loved at first, however the love affair ended with the 4th limb failure inside a year. I switched to a Matrix 330 and found it to be an easy drawing shooting machine. Deadly accurate and fun to shoot.

That said, the Micro series keeps calling me. I wouldn't be at all surprised if after I convince myself that the riser adjustment in the 2016 models has fixed the potential limb issues that I get another Micro, Probably 355. I don't need such a small platform for the hunting I do, but love how compact and cool the Micro's look!!

I have both. I found the Matrix wasn't fussy in regards to accuracy with the supplied excal arrows. However I bought a Micro earlier this year and have found the accuracy off a little with the supplied Quill arrows. With the help of some people of this forum I have solved the accuracy issue. Last week I ordered some Black Eagle Executioners. I'm heading out this morning to give 'em a try.

You have to turn vanes on Quills until they all group same spot..you have use 150 gr point on them or put 110 gr brass insert in and use 100 gr point.
i get very good groups with Quill arrows out at 30 yards....

I had good accuracy with the micro and 380 with factory arrows,, every bit as good as I did with the spine indexed and matched Executioners,,, but once I tried Zombie Slayers, and Spynal Tapps indexed,, unbelievable how good these bows shoot!!

I then had the 330 Matrix and discovered how the Executioners could shoot as good as the Zombies and Tapps,,, just not in the extreme poundage bows. I have tested extensively from 360 to 542 grain arrow configurations in all three types of arrows and have seen first hand, the Tapps and Zombies are your best choice in the Matrix in any bow over the 330, and in the Micro with the 335, the Executioners are not as stiff and it shows especially with broadheads!

I did not see that much improvement in the Executioners over the factory arrows in the Micros, and the heavier poundage Matrix.

in micro 335 i shot quills they shot fine if you turn vanes to find best cock vane.
then tried the gt 425 arrows at 18 inchs at .005 .they shot terrible as group.they did put arrow it same holes but not good groups.

then went to Zombie at.003 shot in same group ,same holes.
went to zombie .001 shot in same group same hole no difference in the .001/003 zombies OTHER than the .003 shot 3 inchs lower at 30 yards than the .001 did out of same micro and dead on at 30 yards..

but if i removed the quill inserts and put in 110 gr brass i bet i could use them with 106 gr spitfire points ..

Can you remove the quill inserts without damaging them> What's the procedure? Thanks.

I don't have either of those bows but is either one compatible with the Excalibur cocking mechanism?

I assume by cocking mechanism you mean the C2 crank cocker. The answer is yes, it works on all the different model Excaliburs.

I have read there may be an issue with the C2 crank handle hitting the cheek rest if your a left handed shooter with the cheek rest on the right side of the stock ? I would explore this before ordering or buying one if I was left handed.

Quite possibly a " lefty " can join in and clear this up as I may be mistaken ?

It would not be the first time.
