I think you guys should check-out Xcalibur pricing at Als Corner Store in Arnprior, Ontario.

I don't think anyone can touch their pricing.

This is a gas bar on Highway 17.
However, being in the heartland of lanark County whitetails, i think the owners woke-up and smelled the coffee.

They just added a second level to the store and dedicated to archery.

Lotsa of xcalibur stuff.

Your absolutely correct about Al's,... I live a couple of Km's away and buy most of my hunting stuff there. Recommend everyone check'em out. This year he is getting shells in there too.

As for the price,... it's resonable because of all the accessories RJ's throwing in, you won't get it any cheeper if you buy it all brand new,... you will pay more than that. I think it's a good deal.

Isn't competition great. I feel if the price is right anything will sell. However, price isn't the only thing, good service by someone who'll stand behind what they're selling is also important.

Guest : Lets compare apples to apples ....

Phone 5 dealers and you will get a price on a bare bones Vixen Deluxe between $425. and $ 475 . CND.

Between $ 250. and $280. CND =
Excalibur Drop Zone Scope Pkg re Vixen - inc Drop Zone Scope 2.5 x 32 mm, scope mount, scope rings, quiver bracket, Excalibur 4 arrow hardwoods quiver, deck wax, fast flight flemish string, rope cocking aid, stringer, 6 Carbon arrows w/vanes and 100 gr target points, 6 Wasp 3 blade 100 gr broadheads

Which is similar to the accessories I am offering ....

A padded case will run you $45. to $50. CND.

A set of stabalizers and brackets will run you $50. + CND.

Most package deals will be between $740. to $800. CND

Add tax and you are well over $700 CND.

Shop around ..... if you can find a Vixen Deluxe decked out with all the accessories I posted with the one I have for sale for $700 CND out the door ... you will be doing well !

Get your best price on a Vixen Dleuxe then buy the accessories here and there individually and you will be shocked  how much of a $900 paycheck you will eat up !

There are cheaper ways to get into a Vixen though .... buy a Deer Hide brown one .... do your own cedar branch camo job .... keep your eyes open for some accessories , scope , etc on E-bay , Tri Add or the Penny Saver ...

I'm just offering a package deal at what I believe is a fair price .... any less and I would keep it , since I ain't in any real hurry to flog it for less ...

Anybody want to run these options by the guy at Al's Corner Store in Arnprior Ontario .... phone ( 613 ) 623-7463 .... let me know how you made out .... I've heard good things about this place as well .

But I'd be real surprised if I couldn't get as good a deal from the Bow Shop , bj , or Archers Nook since I have dealt with them on other merchandise before .... a little less drive for me as well ...

My $0.02 See Ya. R.J.

PS : please come back with some prices for us .... worst comes to worse , it will put the post ttt " to the top " again ...

Guest : I was curious , so I called Al at Al's corner store and gas bar ...... nice guy .... he knows his stuff .... this is what I got for pricing .

Vixen Deluxe $449. CND , accessories package $289. CND , padded case $50 , but he would throw it in for $35. if you buy the package .... no price on a stabalizer because he doesn't deal in them , but would get you one ...

Package deal $773.CND + GST/PST 15% = $889 . CND

Check out http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/ontario.html for a dealer near you in Ontario and compare prices ....

Consider my package has extra .... dual stabalizers and bracket , scope cover , flip up blizzard caps , dual levels , sling etc. (approx $160. CND worth of extras ) for $700. CND package deal.

It's the 2nd one from the right ( sorry for the crappy picture it's a cheap digital camera ) And I know , I know ..... Gary L and Digger have more bows !
Image

This bow is mint , like new in the box , I don't even think I have 10 shots on it .....

If you wanted to get into a Vixen Cheaper .... you could buy a Deerhide brown one and do your own camo like this ....
Image

I have sold a few bows here before .... always priced them fair .... and never had a return call on any of them .

Al's Corner store and gas bar sounds like a good spot if you live in the area .... but I beleive if you search the Excalibur dealer listings and make a few calls , you will find they are a very competative bunch !

Your best deal will come from a dealer that you have a purchase history with .... most all have great shipping leadtimes ...

Al's

Post by stump »

After reading about Al's Corner Store I was curious about them and decided to do some price checking. I called to find out how much they were charging for Montec's and Slick Tricks. I was a little surprised when they told me they didn't sell them because neither was recommended for crossbows. They suggested I switch to jackhammers, spitfires or wasps, all of which were superior to the two brands I was looking for. While I've never fired any of these from my Emag, from what I've read on the forum none of them can compare with either the tricks or the montecs. Am I missing something?

It seems to me that one can't sell what one doesn't have access to. However, no business wants to lose a potenial sale, so of course it will try to push and recommend what they have on hand.

Al's is no different than a lot of shops, but thankfully not all.

If you're interested in Slick Tricks try bj at Archery Plus, he might have some in stock.
