8 point down

Post by Deaf jeff »

there is always something special to me about hunting in the years first snowfall. we did not get much but about 1" overnight. was at my blind 30 minutes before daylight. this guy showed up again like yesterday when camera caught him at 8:10am but i was not hunting . this morning he was there about 1/2 hour earlier. i had him in front of me at 30 yards but facing me, watched him for about 10 minutes and he finally made a move to his right giving me a broadside shot at his left side. at the shot my lumenok lit as usual and i was not able to see for certain which direction he went and i waited about 10 minutes before going to check my arrow and with the inch or so of slushy snow i was able to find the track and trail him for around 120 yards to where he piled up.this was extra special this time around cuz my eyesight and disabilities have always required me to get help tracking but this time i accomplished it on my own and that was a huge deal to me! it was really neat to be able to text my usual helpers and say "come see my deer" instead of the usual "can you come and track my deer" my brother showed up shortly there after and was able to get an in the field pic. 30 yard shot w/ m355 and its new relayer stock, 18" zombie with blazers, 80 grain brass, 100gr spitfire maxx. self made arrow and the total weight is around 380gr

Jeff,
Congrats on a beauty of a buck!!! I to liked the snowfall, it was all white at my place. Saw a 3 point last night, only deer I saw. It's great you were able to recover your deer by yourself, makes a man feel good!! Also nice to have friends willing to help!!

Congrats on the fine deer. Great to know any physical limitations that we have may slow us down but will never stop us.
