you can glue a nock to an 85 grain field point and screw it into the back insert or grind a fieldpoint flat and dremel a groove into it for indexing.

well if your refering to Excaliber arrows just fletch away no need to have a nock reference--- any vane or feather can be the cock vane or feather....
If you want to tune your broadhead to you fletching put your broadhead on- mark your shaft were you want the cock vane or feather to be in alingment with you broadhead- then ignore the old nock placement in your currrent tool- just line your fletching tool up with your mark and fletch away..
yes arizona e-z fletch is the best 4degree right helical for x-bow arrows...
hope that helps..Im sure you will get alot of good advise here...
good luck

Dedicated.... ta all the sweet Bucks yet ta die!
yes, but he can't get it to stay in his jig...we use fieldpoint blunts with a dremel slot cut into them...just screw it into the vane end and there's your indexer...Hoss wrote:well if your refering to Excaliber arrows just fletch away no need to have a nock reference--- any vane or feather can be the cock vane or feather....

How to glue
I use a field point with a nock glued to the end. T he type used on tapered ended aluminum shafts. I forget what size field point it is.
While we are on this subject I have a question concerning alignment
of the fletching.
Do any of the three vanes need to line up with the blades on my
slick trick broadheads if I decide to build my own bolts?
I have talked to vertical bow hunters guys who shoot three blade heads that say they line up the fletching with the blades by using spacers between the head and the shaft when needed.

While we're talking about fletching?
I've found the fletching doesn't hold up long with these crossbows. Is there an inexpensive jig for re-fletching the bolts and is there a max angle that can be used with the Excals?
Thanks,
Greg
Thanks,

Re: While we're talking about fletching?
Greg the flecthing should hold up as long as any flecthing, by that as long as with a V-bow. Of course if you are shooting into something that don't stop your bolt before it bury itself past the fletching.brayhaven wrote:I've found the fletching doesn't hold up long with these crossbows. Can't answer the Jig question
Max angle will depend on vanes or feathers and length of same.

Either will work with the crossbow right or left helical/off set. The Arizona e-z fletch is the way ta go...if you get the 4deg off set stay with vanes or feathers no longer than 4" in length.Hoss wrote: in part:
