Nice big Michigan 8 pt

Sat Thursday night in NE corner tripod facing west over cut bean field. Watching 9 deer 130 yes out. 3 are bucks. One whopper hovering the thicket line running east to west, which is also the property north end border. The 2 little buck were sparring and facing off in front of the 3 mother does,while the big boy would seem to corral the girls in a group pushing the group east..my way..this went on for about 45 mins.. Seems I wasn't the only one focused on the group, as I look to south, out of east tree line come a solo big boy totally focused on this group. He's on a 45 degree angle totally broad side. Range him 54 yds. I was using my 380 stock tactzone. Zombie ( from Newbie many moons ago..thanks again). Spitfire,green luminous. Put tip of 60 yd chevron dead center. Seen green light soar and arc just under him..darn,,.so I thought,...oh wait...till he started running back east stumbling and gurgling .... well folks then I started to get that uncontrollable shake as I realized I stabbed a whopper in the heart. Oh man I got some serious respect for my work horse 380. Read a lot of SEWS posts on long range shots, as a few stands out here are over crop fields that offer some long shots. Practice makes a confident builder. Didn't expect it to pan out, but he blew blood everywhere and made it 30 yds to woods. My biggest 8pt. Perfect rack. Just a beauty Michigan heavy bodied buck..The Michigan forum boys are smokin this yr Getting him mounted for sure. Been seeing some nice bucks this year. I'm very happy boy!, Photobucket messed up.. Jeff I seen your post and that's a dandy!, Congrats! We use to have place in east Jordan. When we was kids. Aunts uncles in Charlevoix and Traverse city, and grand folks north of bridge in Hessel.
