Micro 315 or Matrix 330

Post by jody5252 »

Time to get a 2nd x-bow. Decisions, decisions... As I started looking at these newer bows, It never dawned on me that Excal now recommends carbon arrows. They do not even list aluminum arrows in the catalogue any more... Only arrows I like/use would be 2219's or Easton FMJ's. My Question is, Can I use aluminum arrows or Easton FMJ's, with either of these bows? Would I have to use 2" vanes or can I use 3" ? 125gr., heads, ok to use? I can hear the gasps as I type this, but I just am not a fan of all carbon arrows. I know there are some good ones out there. I use 2219's on my Exocet 200. I prefer a heavier arrow. Thanks J.

Aluminum arrows/FMJs, 3" vanes, and 125 grain tips are all fine. Find a combination that works for you and have fun!

Go with the Matrix 330, it's easier to cock and has less limb issues.

The 330 is certainly easier to cock and faster, but I haven't seen very many limb issues associated with the 315. The 315 is oh so small and has more than enough power for whitetail.
The 2219's or FMJs will work just fine in any crossbow and the 125 gr broadheads will kill anything that a 100 will.
Any decent fletching with enough offset will give you good flight but the 2" Blazers are my choice for many reasons.

Go with the 330.
My 355 likes the 20" Easton 2219 arrows.

I have both a micro 335 and a m330 l am not a big person but the slightly bigger 330 never bothered me in fact l find myself not really using the micro much l like the matrix better. The 2219s and 125 head will work great . As l always say l a 150 grain with the heavy 2219 or fmj will fly even better.easton makes a brass insert for a fmj use it great foc.

Though I own a M380,BD400 & a M405, I love shooting a (200#) Vortex. Only Xbow I might like more is the M330. It's like a modern day Vortex. Your personal size and strength may weigh in on which would be better suited for you.

Nope it's my own creation. A mini nightmare 315.

This is the only bow in a long time that I don't want to sell to upgrade to something else. It just fits me perfectly and gets the job done... :)

I love both of them. The 330 is a bit more accurate but the 315 is a pleasure to carry in the deer woods. Both are easy all day cockers and just a blast to shoot. If in doubt get both lol.

That is what I am mainly looking for, to be able to sling it over my shoulder, and hardly know that I am carrying it. Eliminate the bulk... What arrows do you use, for the 315? Have you ever used aluminum, in this bow?
