Any of you guys run stock pads on your Excal?

Post by learn2flyfish »

I had an extra one lying around and tried it out. It will hold my rope cocker, restringing tool, spare string and even some serving wax. And it gives me that little bit of height I need to get right behind the scope.

I have had one on the right side only of all my bows for years , its the best way to carry your cocking rope.

It's a scope off of a Romanian PSL. 4x24. I found this one with a broken mount for less than $50. Cut the mount off. The front tube is 30mm. Schott glass, this one is an '82 model IIRC. The reticle is my Avatar. Here's what they look like in original form.

Here's a little write up on them. They used to be widely available for less than 100. I have two on Airguns and ran on on an AR for years. Really good glass if you take the time to learn how to set them up.

Since reading this intervention, I decided to buy a Voodoo Tactical Army Padded Stabilizer Rifle Cheek Rest (Black) for my rifle and Crossbow. 9.50 Canadian plus 5 dollars shipping. Cheaper than building one with hockey tape and foam.
