A finished model would be great to see. I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the two Matrix models I have for a long time, these would go a long way keeping them shooting & looking good.

Well, as noted in another post I broke a limb on my 380 last night.

In trying to take off the airbrakes ALL FOUR shoulder bolt heads stripped, now I get to Dremel slots, etc. to get them out.

I'm buying a ti64 kit just because of that issue.

If I had to change the limbs out on a hunt, I'd be stuck.

While pricey in one way, the ti64 kits are cheap in many others.

Performance - won't rust and would be almost impossible to strip. The shoulder bolts for the limb straps, (recoil plates), have a socket cap head with a lot of meat to them and the socket size, one step up from the tiny OEMs. The scope mount screws are meatier and have a socket one size up from the OEMs. I don't know torque specs for our bows because to my knowledge Excal doesn't post them but Ti64 does have general torque specs on their website. If interested other information, like the alloy they use, check out the site - the info is there.

Last question from me, did you Locktite them, and is it recommended? I'm getting some for the Matrix bows.

Wildcatter has used removable grade loktite and had no issues. I just don't like the gunk it leaves behind. I have always used the anti-seize that they sell on the website, it's called Ti Moly paste but any high solids MOS2 anti seize will do.

Due to issues I had removing the strap bolts today. I just went all in on ti64.

One thing to know, you don't have to buy the whole kit, you CAN buy the bolts/screws individually.

When you go to a specific kit there is a listing of items and then a description.

If you place your cursor over any line on the FIRST listing, it will highlight and when you click on it the individual price will pop up.

Dan, what I did after removing the stock steel factory hardware was chase and clean all the riser tap holes with a tap before reassembly using the ti64 hardware.

This extra step increases thread seating contact and facilitates easier removal at a later date.

I might add that I don't loc tite my Ti64 fasteners but simply use a very small amount of their Moly lube available at a small additional cost.

Thanks guys, do you have any issue with them working loose without Locktite?

My question exactly.

Does the Ti-treat moly paste just serve as an anti-seize or does it also help prevent bolt loosening?

Everything has been good and snug for me across 3 bows over the past 2 years using the Moly paste. I asked the engineers why they don't use or recommend Loktite and he said why would they...the moly paste is what they use on racing engine components and it seems to hold up there. What I like about it is the fasteners stay tight but they're easily removed later down the line.
