Anyone else seeing this?

Post by Big John »

The issue has been solved and dealt with. :)
The Zapmaster has cleaned house accordingly!
The Forum is now Clean and Purrdy! 8)

There is now a new sticky at the top of Trader Forum to be read by anyone wishing to see or understand better, mostly if you have low post counts.

Let me know if you have this issue as well.

Now I've noticed that the post counts under your profile and avatar keep changing? And not just a little.!
I've seen my post count go up from 2940 to 2945 then next day sign on and back down to 2941. Then as I go up higher towards 3000 it has changed everyday!!! I had it up to 2998 last night and this morning it is back down to 2978!!!  Maybe some of us aren't allowed to go over 3000 posts count. :?:

Now I'm thinking how much is this happening? For some its going up without posting, for some its going down even without posting?! So I'm going to find out what or who can do this to post counts after hours, or when signed out.

Let me know if you have this issue as well.

:D :D Sorry, I won't join a thread started with someone with so few posts!! :D

Yes. That's me today trying to get it back to 2998 at least.
I've lost over 80 posts numbers in couple months. Don't know how or why. Then build it back up, and bingo, down it goes again. WEIRD! :?

John, maybe this version of operating system for the forum only counts posts which are not archived. They use to shift posts into the archive section after a while. Would this cause your posts to drop.

Just thinking, could it be a female conspiracy to keep the number of posts low (FORUM WIDE) just so it will not look like they talk to much LOL.

Might also be caused if foum moderators delete a trouble thread, this would also delete any other posts s well.

I'm not sure Tom. Just is weird. However if archiving posts and threads after a period brings posts count down some people will have zero soon!!!
That wouldn't be right. Not right.

Not long ago DoeMaster mentioned cleaning up a large bunch of redundant posts in the Trading area. If you had an old add or post there and it was removed you just lost some of your post counts.

Sounds logical. However not right still. What about people who can respond to pm's with only certain amount of posts. If only they sold items. Then posts removed. Their count just went back down below minimum count again to pm. Right? I will talk to Kevin and see. Maybe something different.

John,

I noticed the same thing... I was up to over 1050 and returned a day or so later and was back at just over 900... I mentioned it in a PM to Peter, but he could come up with no explanation... :? :(

I,m slowly getting back up there.

John,

I think I also read that if your name was on a post where you posted below someone who came on only to add spam on an actual crossbow related post ( like the Russian Crud ) that it was deleted, but so were those who posted on there before or after the spammer.... I wonder?

Why is this such an issue? Is there some reason that there even needs to be a post count? Is there some sort of secret contest going on? What am I missing? LOL! :-)

I think Normous nailed it, the trading post has been cleaned up and is now only two pages. There also may have been some cleanup performed like stated.
