Aluminum Axiom vs Phoenix

Post by mcheney »

Hello,
A friend just bought a nice used aluminum Axiom off ebay.
I told him I thought that when the Axiom went synthetic the Phoenix was introduced to fill the aluminum 175 void but I was not sure.
Functionally it appears that the Axiom SMF and the Phoenix are the same bows but I cannot find any specs on the original aluminum Axiom.
Doe's anyone know the actual history and specs of these bows?

Thanks!
Mike

Phoenix first, Axiom doesn't have Db bars. Axiom was Excaliburs first run at a " bargain" bow to compete with some other cheaper lines. Great bow!!! And great bargain!

So it looks like the main difference is that the aluminum frame axiom had different camo, plain green quiver and no dissipator bars?
Other than that are the functional specs the same between the bows?
I see the SMF matches the Phoenix functional specs and the synthetic rail was made to lower the entry point, yet his Axiom has an aluminum frame and I don't see any specs on that bow.
By functional I mean length, draw weight, speed.

Thanks again.

I had an Axiom before they were made. Bought a Phoenix when they first came out, and took the DBs off.
Still shooting it!

I just bought a Phoenix the other day it has the standard string on it . Should I invest into the newer Flemish strings or is this one fine for now I have it shooting 10-50yrds ATM with field points it's alittle on the loud side but I like it so far compared to the Amazon special eagle I was using. Any info would be appreciated
