The beauty of the magnus is its like black and white. If I connect the bird will be DRT. If I miss then I extend my season for another day. Nothing wrong with a body shot however I don't want to chase a wounded bird for miles in case I miss the sweet spot...

I'll agree, with "If I connect the bird will be DRT."
The problem is, if you don't have it already it will come, and that will be a call shy Gobbler. It's the same as going out before season and calling in birds to see them.
As for chasing a wounded bird, you have that with fellows using a shotgun, and either not pattering or guessing the wrong distance on the bird, and them saying I rolled a big gobbler but he got away. NO REASON FOR THIS!!!!
I have hunted turkeys since 1958 and spring gobblers since 1968 when Pa. had their first season. In 1968 you could call a gobbler from one ridge top to another. Today if you hear a gobbler across the valley, you go after him, or hope one starts gobbling in the area where you are, because that gobbler across the valley is not coming to you.
Well are season open April 29, so have to get to scouting. I wish you luck with whatever you use, and the turkey holds his head still. Just be safe.
