Old Man Scores - First deer with bow.

Post by Shemp »

I sent the old man ( whom has never shot a deer with a bow ) to the Glory hole last night as the conditions were right. He had one fawn, a doe, a large 6 point buck, and a 2nd year doe all within 25 yards. He shot the 2nd year doe as all he shoots is fawns and young does and left the buck for me.

He is a butcher of 35 years and likes young tender venison . Anyways I haven't seen him this pumped about shooting a deer in a long time and he was still shaking when I got to the truck. The best part was that he already had it gutted and dragged to the truck when I saw him.

All i had to do was sit and enjoy a cold beer with him and listen to the story of his first deer with a bow. Now thats a hunting partner - he leaves the bucks for someone else whom would enjoy shooting them more and takes care of his own deer with no assistance required and has cold beer to boot.

Shemp,

Excellent Nuntin' partner you've got there. Keep him.
Are you sure you wern't dreaming? That sounds like a perfect outing just made to order. What more could you ask for. Pamela Anderson stopping by to share your cold beer?

Congratulations to you and the "Old Man".

Congratulations to you and the "old man". I can only assume its your father. I know I use to call my dad that.

If that be the case, you can not find a better hunting partner than your own father. Mine died when I was only 20 years old. The best we ever, ever, ever, got along, was when we were hunting, in particular deer.

Hunting really means alot to me, and now that I have my own two boys, which one is hunting this year for the very first time, it may be very emotional. I will do whatever it takes so my son can tag a nice buck, which we have plenty of on our property.

Damn!!!!! I can hardly wait.
