Turkey Torment

Post by Tom »

First of all, I want to congratulate everyone who has been successful going after turkeys this year. I also want to congratulate all those who have gone out after then because they are out in the woods.

Yesterday I had a wild turkey approach me, when I was almost right in the center of town, right near my dads house LOL. Who says you need to go after them, when you cant go hunt them, they hunt you to just torment you.

This bird did walk directly across a busy 4 lane road (thought I might have road kill for dinner), right at me, to within 15 yards. You see, if your not hunting them, they will hunt you, just to torment you.

Tom, did you have a sub sandwich with you by any chance? Perhaps the gobbler was waiting for you to set it down. I'm starting to think you've got a special 'way with the critters'

I refuse to answer that incase it might get me into trouble. LOL There was a local police officer driving past when the hen crossed the road (jay walked) and he did not stop  . If it was me jaywalking, he would have stopped and gave me a ticket.

Actually, since it was a hen, I thought she might have been looking for a "tom" . I told her to get going as I was not what she wanted. The picture was her walking away.
