I never seen this coming! 5 month's ago Bass Pro wanting to Buy Cabelas. And Cabelas wanting out! Willing to sell! Now Gander Mountain Folding ! Camping World trying to salvage. Crazy how things change and fast! The days of window shopping are over! Well unless of course. You looking through the I Pad window.

....there has been a structural shift in the way business is conducted today....brick and mortar is dead....we are to blame....consumers are endlessly looking for the best price (except in the case of health care...which is a discussion for a different day )....today....we Google and search for the best price....and we can sometimes have it same day...saving 10% or more...why get in the car...spend our time...pay for gas ....fight the arses on the highway and in the malls....I hate to say it....I saw it coming 15 years ago....I bought a grill on line from what i thought was a big distributor of this particular grill....turns out it was from a local hardware store in Indiana who was smart enough to have a website and an internet presence....

Speaking of buying a grill online I was just about to buy a grill from Walmart day before yesterday for $289. before tax from my local Walmart and I looked at it online and the price was $225. with pick up at local store so I paid online and road around the block and picked it up.

My local bow store is choking .lts on line or die l guess. Its a shame .but im not gonna pay 4 dollars more for broadheads when l dont have to im not made of money its that simple

That is true, we all seek the best price we can. Most of us are not well off n jus can't afford the 25-40% tack-on over wholesale these Shops want us to pay ! Plus the fact that most have a clue about proper way to keep a crossbow right

I'm not a wealthy man, and never will be, but I try to support my local shops.
For example, when I made up my mind to buy a crossbow, and not knowing anything about the care and feeding of these beasts, I went straight to my local bow and gun shop. I bought my first compound bow from them over 35 years ago, and in the years since then they have always treated me right. Maybe I spent more $ than I should have, but the shop owner spent about an hour giving me an education about the use and care of my new Excalibur, got the scope dialed in and had me shooting tight, little groups. Can't put a price on that kind of help!
Plus, the owner was on the NRA Board of Directors for many years, and remains active in numerous State and local pro-hunting and Second Amendment organizations, supporting those who support him. It'd be a big loss to the sporting community if his shop was to ever close it's doors.

same here, the small business owners need to make a living and buying local keeps your money local. dont get me wrong cuz i buy things from the big companies but whenever possible i prefer to buy from the small business. there have even been quite a few instances where the small business actually had the cheaper price for identical item. amazon is one that at times the prices they charge for the identical item is sometimes quite a few bucks higher in price so it does pay buying locally at times.

We purchase our guns n ammo n such locally. Crossbows n such here in Mo. they have been down right ugly when try to talk to the shop in town. Its verticals or nutten n said he would shut his shop down before a crossbow came in it ! Hey this is one of those on goin issues in States that have jus opened the deer huntin/archery season to allow crossbows
