velocity difference???

Post by GonHuntin »

I'm currently shooting a carved tip exocet and am thinking about upgrading .........I'm shooting a 20" 2117, 3 5" vanes, wasp 125 cam lock and I'm getting 260 fps across the chrono.........

How much faster would the new exocet be with the same arrow??

I would think that the increase to 175# from 165#, and the addition of fastflite string with the new bow's magtip limbs would gain you about 15 fps. (my estimate only)

A much cheaper upgrade for you would be a switch to Laser II carbons and 100 grain heads with 4" vanes instead of 5" for a similar increase in speed with no changes to your bow. Your total arrow weight now is approaching 450 grains. Shave 75-100 grains off of that and you will see a real noticeable gain.

I agree. I have 100 gr wasp boss's on laser II bolts with a fast flight string. I shot 10 times through my crony and the average speed was 301fps. Hope this helps

I'm getting 285-286fps with the 175# magtip Exocet, using the same arrow/broadhead combo.
