First Shots with new Bow

Post by ecoaster »

Sighted in the Exocet today. Bolts were around 307fps with carbons and 100gr feild points. Shot some broadheads and had to pull them through the back of the target. The plastic fletchings got warped and the bolts were hitting the target all over the place. Used a new bolt and, BAMM, bullseye.

Thanks Chris4570 for bringing along the target and chrono.

No problem! Anytime. Still have to work something out with that target stand though.

ecoaster: If you buy one of the good cheap bag target point targets that Walmart sells for $24.95 A, you won't ruin any more of your bolts. Striper

Striper,

The feild points stopped before they got to the fletch, but the broadheads blew through. Just like they'll do on Mr.Buck    .

Have fun ecoaster, but check your shafts/bolts as
Quote in part"The plastic fletchings got warped and the bolts were hitting the target all over the place. Used a new bolt and, BAMM, bullseye."

The plastic vanes being warped should not mess up your flight that much. A warped shaft however sure will.
