Home made stealth ladderstand

Post by longbow joe »

Image[/url]l wanted a true light weight ladder stand for basically scouting and just kind of probing around.l have a teloscoping leverage ladder stand but it weighs a ton. I made this from a broken 8 foot step ladder. Only weighs about 20 pounds l normally hunt higher up but i just wanted a mobile little stand . The area l hunt is very dense and viney going above 10 feet seems counterproductive anyway. Looking forward to using it . I will post a pic of my camo job soon.having trouble with a bigger picture of it from post image

I made one of these around 40 years ago from a broken wood ladder. It worked, but yours looks a lot better. And safer! You may want to paint it with truck bed liner to keep it quiet then chain it to a tree as another stand. Good hunting!

Its a shame some company cant actually make a 10 or 12 foot version of this . loc on had the titan ladderstand it was the closest thing to a true lightweight ladder. All of the store bought ones weigh 50 pounds plus ....lol l set this thing up out back in the tree tonight not a single squeek and l havnt even painted and wrapped it with burlap yet.

nice stand! i purchased but havent tried the rivers-edge-pack-n-stack-13-ladder-stand. its 13 foot and 33 pounds. all the reviews seam to be good and it is supposed to pack together well. if you take out one section it be a 10 footer right around 25 pounds. http://www.fieldandstreamshop.com/p/riv ... knstckltsb

Cant amagine the insurance costs of a treestand mfr. Company. probably for every 20 you sell its 1 lawsuite because of bozos using them. Someday they might have airbags.

I have a couple Titans and like them a lot. I like your stand too, seems like the p effect stand if you can set it and forget it. Just make sure your wear your safety harness!!!
