TactZone - Faulty Switch

Post by prossbow »

When my Suppressor came last week, I noticed the battery was dead. I figured it was just the cheap Chinese battery. However, upon changing it, I discovered right away that whilst on the red setting, shutting it off the illumination stays on ever so faintly, it doesn't do that on the green setting. If you fidget with it, it will go out completely but I'm assuming this is not normal.

Thank you,

Kevin

You can try tapping lightly with your finger on the circuit board with the batteries out. If there is any little 'tick' suggesting movement then the lock ring needs to be tightened. I had a similar problem on a Hawke XB30 and the customer service talked me through it. They would have fixed it in shop but said it might be a simple problem and I could save time and shipping by checking myself. Good Luck.

What is the lock ring and how did you tighten it?

Lock ring is the threaded ring with 2 slots on it's top edge. It's just like the thread part of the scope caps but without the top so it screws down the inside of the threads to hold the circuit board in place. I took a small screwdriver and pushed it around the edge but found out later that Hawke includes a lock ring tool to adjust the metal scope caps on the XB30 that fits.
I can send pictures if you PM me your cell phone number...not sure if your scope is designed the same but worth a look.

Thanks for the offer but I am not having any problems so far. Was mostly just curious as to what it was.
