OT: Most efficient method to dress grouse?

I would like to hear from people who are experienced grouse hunters. Specificially, how you maximize the amount of meat when dressing a bird? My method of stepping on the wings and head while pulling on the feet gives a nice clean separation with most of the entrails separating with the legs and feet, but it seems to be a little wasteful.

Pluck it, cut from the anus to the top of the greast bone completely splitting the breast wide open and remove all the intestines.
Rinse under cold water until all traces of blood are removed.
