Target Difficulty

Post by Jimmy »

I am new to crossbows having recently purchased an exocet.
I am shooting target points on carbon bolts into a Yellow Hammer bag target and am having a devil of a time pulling them out.
Any secrets for a new guy i.e. Pull them straight out, twist them, rotate them, etc. :?:

This may sound crazy.......but.....put a light coat of car wax or armor all on the shafts.........should make things a lot easier!

When I got my Gold Tip shafts the instructions on the package said that you could put furniture polish on the shafts. I haven't done that, but have use Armor All with good result.

A little Ivory liquid soap works well if you don't have Armor All around.

paste wax or wood finishing wax, like min wax works great...it also helps seal the carbon which we all know absorbs moisture...(also looks good )...don't put any liquids on to the carbon shaft, even armor all...the carbon absorbs it like a sponge and can actually add weight to the shaft eventually breaking down the carbon...like digger says, ivory soap is cheap and it's the best bang for the buck (until it rains on your target and your backyard is filled with suds  )...
