Beeman ICS White Out Bolts

Post by Up-Stream »

Just picked up some Beeman White Out bolts for my micro 335. Cut them down and swapped out the inserts for brass ones. They seem to fly perfect with field points and Slick Trick broadheads at 20 and 30 yards. Anybody else try these out? Can't wait to send one through a deer and see how the white looks covered in blood.

Saw this and checked these out. Had to call Beman to get specs.

Length is 20"
Straightness is 0.001" to 0.002" max
ID = 0.297"
GPI = 10.5gr/in
Come with an AL insert = 43gr
Brass insert available = 100gr

The "white" is simply a decal (like the Zombie Slayer graphic) so it will come off with acetone. Which means it will also stick in a Rinehart type target.

My guess is that they would be stiff enough to fly well, but the sticker turned me off. Still I am intrigued by the white arrow idea and will look for some epoxy type paint to try on some of my Black Eagles. I think this would help me find arrows after the shot. I had one this year where the Nufletch broke off when it hit a tree so I had no light to help find it. Got lucky in that it landed in a sunlit part of the woods and theFLO feather was easy enough to see.

Cerakote air dry perhaps? I like the idea of a white arrow

So far I've only shot them at a bag target with field points and a block target with broadheads, but so far no signs of the white wearing off.

It;s the Rinehart type of targets that get them. If you don't take the Zombie sticker off it can start getting messy and kind of sticky making arrow retrieval much harder. Not as bad if you shoot BHs but it still happens. First thing I do with my Zombie arrow is acetone that sticker right off....

The specs listed above say 10.5 gpi, but mine are 11.5 gpi. I'm pretty sure all the WhiteOut Bolts are 11.5 gpi

That's what Beman told me. Probably 10.5GPI on the carbon and the big sticker adds 1GPI

That makes sense. They are flying great for me so far. Might not be the best choice for when there's snow on the ground, but other than that I'm pretty impressed overall. Hopefully I'll be posting a pic of one covered in blood soon. Just over a week and I'll be in the woods again.

Painted 2 Zombies with acrylic automotive enamel to see how this works. I'll post my results as I get them.

Completed 2 arrows last night. I hope to shoot them soon. I want to see if the paint comes off on the rail. If not I think this will be a good idea for me as I hunt from the ground alot (which lends itself to lost arrows) and I almost nevr hunt in snow in NC, so the white should stand out well.

I haven’t had any issues with paint coming off of the Beeman ICS WhiteOuts at all. I’ll be in the woods Sat, Sun, and Mon to hopefully send one through the 9 pointer I’m chasing.

Well I sent one of the WhiteOuts through a doe this morning equipped with a 4 blade WhackEm broadhead. Bolt and broadhead did the job just fine, but I can’t load a pic. Says file too large. It was a wet morning here in northern Michigan. I shot her early, so I decided to wait it out a few hours in chance of seeing a buck or something. Even after the bolt layed on the wet ground with water dripping from the leaves the blood showed great on the white shaft. It was a little watered down and not as red as I’d hoped, but I think the super slick finish on them combined with the moisture washed some off. I’m back in the blind for round 2 of field testing. Hopefully on the buck I’m after. Will try and figure out how to load photo when I get home from camp.

Built up my painted arrows and tested them out. No white residue on the rail so I have them in the arsenal now and hope to get some field results soon.
