I must smell bad
I've been out 4 times this far so year. The only deer that I've seen was a small 5 pointer on opening day, that I passed on because he was 30 yds in fading day light (still legal shooting time). He proceeded to walk over to my brother and gave him a 25 yd broad side shot which he made good on. My bother also saw two other deer that evening that were too far. Since then I've been out twice by myself with zero sightings. Last night I took my bother out again. We switched stands. Again he saw 3 deer last night. One of which was a 13 point buck that gave him 12 yd shot that was almost broadside (slightly quartering toward him). Again he made good on the shot. We waited 1/2 hour before tracking. We recovered him with abaout a 1/2 hour of tracking on a not so good blood trail in the dark. Not sure why the blood trail wasn't better. The shot whent through one lung, the liver, and some of the guts. The deer still went 200-300 yds. About half way through tracking the trail was getting pretty thin, and I though we were going to loose him. Again last night I had zero sightings.
Ya know bow hunter deer hunting with a buddy is like fishing with a buddy or group, one person in the fishing group seems to catch all the fish
Same type of bait same type of line and it make no difference.. Hang in there and your time will come. I mysel am not a believer in cover scent or a big fan of camo. I will on occasion use a small amount of vanilla on a cotton ball and tie it off on a limb near my stand.
I also do use feeders. But it is not you self inless of course you are waving your arms, jumping up and down or talking to youself loud Hang in there and it WILL HAPPEN
