Micro 315 ?

Post by excalxbowner »

Is the Micro 315 the smallest of the Micros? I think the stock is shorter than the rest of them? Asking about size and mass weight instead of the draw weight. thx

I'm not an expert, but I believe the stock is probably the same on all Micro's and the rail length is the only difference.

The rail length is shorter than the current higher poundage gen 2 Micro's, those being the current Micro 335 and 355.... It is the same length as the earlier gen 1 Micro 335 which needed 1/2" more rail and draw length to "make speed" with the new more swept back micro 335 gen 2 riser. ( the rail length and corresponding draw length for the 355 micro is 1/2" longer than the gen 2 micro 335 )

Stock length on Micros are the same length, have the same drilled screw holes for mounting to the rails and are interchangable.

I've just pieced myself together a 315 using an old gen1 335 and newer gen2 riser. Wanted something to shoot quantities in my basement

Let me tell you, if you haven't given the 315 a look or a test run, you should. It's effortless to cock , deadly accurate, and quiet, barely a snap compared to my faster micro. It feels absolutely tiny, although it's only 1/2" shorter, balances perfect and did I say it's effortless to cock?

And here the best part, 395 grn arrow, DM Flemish string(no idea what material) and it knocks off 310-311 fps. So they are definitely a fair bit under rated.

The micro 315 is no lightweight.

I would also take a close look at the new GRZ2, it is rated 305fps and a draw weight of only 200 pounds. It is listed as using the same Feather lite stock that is used on the Micros and is considerably lower in price than the Micro 315. It is a touch bit wider than the Micro as it is using the Matrix limbs. The MSRP is also about $300 dollars less for the GRZ2.

I think one of the micros would be ideal for me now that i am hunting out of a saddle. My 355 is good to saddle hunt with, but a Micro would work even better. I think the 315 might be the smallest and lightest excal xb. :D thx, again

The Micro 315 is very under-rated. The Bow is very fast, Tiny, light, and very accurate.
I have been using the 315 since Sept. and shoot it very much. Considering my size (6'-3" an 310 lbs)
the bow looks very tiny! But in a tree and walking thru brush, the bow shines! When swinging back and forth
in a tree worrying about limb touch's is much lower. And very easy to cock many times over.
I call this Micro Rocket a Winner!!

I'll probably get the 315 bare bow from Woody's, and then put a Burris Fast Fire on it. Seems that i never get a shot beyond 30 yards.
