Back Yard Buck

Post by ko4nrbs »

This guy is standing less than 20 yards in front of the Ground Blind I set up over a month ago. I have yet to see him in person. This is the back side of a buddy's 3 1/2 acres at the end of a Cul-De-Sac.

Looks like a young one. He should grow bigger antlers in the next year or two - or he would be good eating right now.

The land owner wants all legal deer killed. They are destroying his landscaping and garden.

He's definitely a good deer and I hope you get him . For me though being in a 1 deer per year area he doesn't meet my spread past his ears rule so I would pass on him this early . If it was the last week and I was still hunting it might be a different story

I can't shoot any more bucks. We are allowed 2 bucks and 4 does each deer season. So far I have killed 2 spikes, button buck and a doe all with my Exomax. The button buck is classified as an anterless male so he counts as a doe. Two more does and I am limited out.

I have been giving the meat to 3 different families.
